A half-length portrait of Arthur Vincent depicting him looking to the viewer’s right. He is dressed in a black, high-collared jacket, with a striped silk waistcoat, stock tie and dress shirt. Set set against a dark, neutral background, Vincent looks out at the viewer.
Artist: Nicholas Brennan. Born in Dublin in 1802, Nicholas Brennan was the son of an attorney’s clerk. He exhibited portraits at the Royal Hibernian Academy between 1826 and 1852. These included, in 1827, a portrait of Dublin-born writer and scientist Dionysius Lardner. The date of Nicholas Brennan’s death is uncertain.
