Signed ‘Chancellor, Dublin’ in red at lower right. This is probably George Chancellor, who was born in Dublin in 1796. He was the son of John Chancellor, a watch and clock maker based in Dublin.
George Chancellor was a landscape and miniature painter. He exhibited works at the Royal Hibernian Academy in 1828 and again in 1829. George Chancellor died in Dublin in 1861.
