A bust-length portrait of Ellaline Vincent , set against a brown background. She is depicted turned to the viewer’s left and appears to be wearing a fur coat over a pink dress. Ellaline’s jewellery includes pearls and drop earrings and she looks out at the viewer. Dated 1925.
Ellaline Vincent was the second wife of Brigadier General Berkeley Vincent. His portrait hangs round corner to the left of Ellaline’s.
Artist: Cecil Stuart Jameson (inscribed in pen on frame at reverse).
This British Scottish artist (1884-1973) has portraits in several collections, including that of the British National Trust.
