Seascape with a Royal Navy 3rd rate double deck ship, possibly with 74 guns, c. 1760. The sea is calm. Land is visible on the horizon and an urban centre to the right.
Artist: Possibly by Francis Swaine (1725-1782).
Swaine, a marine painter, lived most of his life near St James’ Park, Westminister. He died in Chelsea.
